FLASH FLOOD WATCH FROM 5 PM THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH LATE TONIGHT.

The National Weather Service in Blacksburg has issued a
* Flash Flood Watch for portions of southwest Virginia and
southeast West Virginia, including the following areas, in
southwest Virginia, Smyth and Tazewell. In southeast West
Virginia, Eastern Greenbrier, Mercer, Monroe, Summers, and
Western Greenbrier.

* From 5 PM EDT this afternoon through late tonight

* Showers and storms are expected to produce heavy rain in localized areas over a short period of time, potentially resulting in flash flooding.

* Creeks and streams may overrun their banks, potentially impacting life and property. Several inches deep of flowing water may make travel hazardous for motorists, especially in naturally low lying areas and in areas of sloped terrain.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
Remember...TURN AROUND...DON'T DROWN!
