Opequon Creek near Martinsburg affecting Berkeley and Jefferson Counties ...Minor flooding expected at Opequon Creek near Martinsburg by early this afternoon... The National Weather Service in Sterling Va has issued a

* Flood Warning for The Opequon Creek near Martinsburg.

* From this afternoon until late tonight.

* At 7 AM Saturday the stage was 8.4 feet and rising.

* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.

* Minor flooding is forecast.

* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by early this afternoon and crest near 10.5 feet by early this evening. The river will fall below flood stage by late this evening.

* Impact...At 11.0 feet...Water begins to cover backyards of homes on Bowers Road (County Road 1/1). Douglas Grove Road (County Road 9/16) is flooded and impassible. Water also approaches Golf Course Road (County Road 36) and Grapevine Road (County Road 9/14).

* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 11.2 feet on May 6 2017.

* AFFECTED AREAS: BERKELEY, WV ... JEFFERSON, WV
