The City of Oneonta’s contractor, R.B. Robinson Inc., will begin work on the Main Street Water Main Replacement – Hunt Street to East End Ave project on Monday, May 6^th. Work is scheduled to occur on weekdays between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., and will progress from Hunt Street (by the Post Office) to East End Ave. The scope of work includes replacing the existing water main and customer water services, installing ADA-compliant sidewalk curb ramps at crosswalks, and milling and paving asphalt. The projected completion date of this project is November 8^th, 2019.
 
Throughout the project, the Contractor will hand-deliver notices to residents and businesses prior to any scheduled work that will affect their properties, such as: sidewalk access, driveway access, and/or water service interruption.
 
In addition, the City will issue, on behalf of the Contractor, regular progress updates via Nixle. These updates will include an aerial map of the project area which is currently under construction, with an indication as to the current extent of traffic disturbance (the first such map is attached to this message). Typically, the Contractor will maintain one-lane traffic, controlled by flaggers. At times, certain side streets will be closed to allow local traffic only.
 
While work is ongoing, it is strongly recommended that through traffic utilize Interstate 88 via Exits 15 and 16 to bypass the project, whenever possible.
 
Please understand that this important project will be disruptive, however, the City of Oneonta and R.B. Robinson Inc. will work to ensure the effects are minimized, to the extent practicable.
