INDIANAPOLIS - On behalf of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Chief of Police Bryan Roach, you are cordially invited to the 17th IMPD Recruit Class Commencement Ceremony at 1 p.m. Friday, May 3rd, 2019, at the IMPD Training Academy. The Honorable Mayor Joe Hogsett and Chief Roach will deliver public remarks at the graduation.
The 37 graduating members of the 17th IMPD recruit class were sworn-in on June 4th, 2018. These officers have been assigned to the Training Division for the past 47 weeks. The recruit training curriculum consists of 1,120 hours of classroom and scenario-based training in a classroom setting and 20 weeks of on-the-job training in the Field Training Program.
Upon their graduation from the Academy, the officers will be re-assigned to the Operations Division; where they will begin patrolling the neighborhoods of Indianapolis.
