SUSPECT: Jeremy Christopher Hernandez, 28-year old Apple Valley resident
VICTIM: Taniya Rocha, 26-year old Apple Valley resident
SUMMARY: On April 30, 2019, deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to a single car collision on Bear Valley Road, near 2nd Avenue.
Jeremy Hernandez was traveling west on Bear Valley Road when his 2005 Jeep left the roadway and collided with a power pole. Taniya Rocha, the passenger, sustained abrasions, bruising and complained of pain to her chest. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Hernandez was also transported to a local hospital to be evaluated.
The results of a blood alcohol test performed on Hernandez determined he was operating the vehicle with a blood alcohol level exceeding the legal limit of .08%. He was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for driving under the influence, causing bodily injury.
Westbound Bear Valley Road, between 2nd Avenue and 3rd Avenue have been closed to allow Southern California Edison can make necessary repairs to the damaged power pole. The duration of the closure is unknown.
