Starting 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, crews will begin working on the replacement the existing 33” sewer main and installation of the sewer manhole crossing southbound lanes on Lafayette Street between Highway 237 and Calle De Luna. To perform this work, there will be a full closure of Lafayette Street southbound lanes from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. beginning Tuesday, April 30 and ending Sunday morning, May 5. Traffic on southbound Lafayette Street will be detoured. There are no businesses that will be affected by the lane closures as there’s access through either Great America Way or Tasman Drive.
During the day, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m, one southbound lane will be reopened with a temporary speed limit of 35 MPH. One northbound lane on Lafayette Street will remain open at all times.
The public’s patience is appreciated while the emergency sewer work is completed.
