WINTER STORM WARNING | SATURDAY, APRIL 27, 2019
The National Weather Service has issued a 12-hour WINTER STORM WARNING for the area in effect from 1 p.m. today, Saturday, April 27 to 1 a.m. tomorrow, Sunday April 28. A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather conditions will make travel very hazardous. Travel will be difficult and dangerous and should be limited during the warning period. Rain will transition to a heavy, wet snow in the early afternoon and continue into the evening. With snowfall rates of up to 2 inches per hour, total snow accumulations of 3 to 8 inches could be possible by the evening. In addition, wind gusts of up to 40 mph can cause greatly reduced visibility. Updates from the Aurora Snow Team regarding street operations will be released later.
