Suffolk County Police today arrested a Rocky Point man for placing a video recording device in the employee bathroom of a Ronkonkoma business earlier this year.
 
A female employee of Trinity Solar, located at 2180 5^th Ave #1, discovered a device plugged into the electrical outlet in the women’s bathroom. The device appeared to be a cell phone charger. Upon further inspection, other employees realized it was a recording device.
 
Following an investigation, Fifth Squad detectives determined the device was placed in the bathroom by Michael Evans, who was employed at the business at the time. A Search Warrant was executed earlier today at Evans home, located at 19 Valkyr Road, where he was arrested at approximately 4:50 p.m.
 
Evans recorded the victims between March 7 and March 14. Evans left the company on April 1.
 
Evans, 32, was charged with 12 counts of Unlawful Surveillance 2^nd Degree. He will be held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on April 27.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
