Press Release: Robbery Suspects Arrested

DATE: April 19, 2019
LOCATION: 300 West Calaveras Blvd., Chili’s Grill and Bar
CASE #: 19-109-147
VICTIM: 45-year-old male San Jose resident
SUSPECT #1: Rashawn Lamel Glasgow, 20-year-old Stockton resident
SUSPECT #2: Demonshea Montrell Steen, 23-year-old Stockton resident

On April 19, 2019, at 3:45 P.M., a Milpitas Police officer was flagged down by a victim of a robbery that just occurred in the parking lot of Chili’s Grill and Bar on West Calaveras Blvd. The victim said two men approached him and asked for a piece of paper. When the victim pulled out his wallet to look for a piece of paper, one suspect grabbed him while the other suspect took cash from the victim’s wallet. The suspects ran away in different directions, but the victim was able to provide detailed descriptions of each suspect to the officer.

Additional officers quickly arrived in the area to search for the suspects and saw them in a shopping center on the opposite side of West Calaveras Blvd. As the suspects fled to a nearby residential neighborhood, a sergeant arrested one of the suspects, later identified as Rashawn Glasgow, on Spence Avenue. The second suspect, later identified as Demonshea Steen, ran from the officers and through several residential backyards and nearby businesses, but he was ultimately arrested while trying to hide in a restaurant bathroom. Officers searched the suspects and recovered the stolen cash. Both suspects were booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for robbery. Steen had an additional charge of resisting arrest for running from an officer.
