The San Bernardino County Human Trafficking Task Force arrested eleven male adults for Solicitation for Prostitution

LOCATION:    2100 Block of E. Convention Center Way. Ontario
 
SUSPECTS:   Eleven male adult suspects, ranging in age from 21-65 years of age, and residents of San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange and Los Angeles counties.
 
VICTIM:           People of the State of California
 
 
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at about 12:00 pm, the San Bernardino County Human Trafficking Task Force, in a combined effort with officers from the City of Ontario Police Department,  conducted an in-call hotel "John" operation. The operation is part of an ongoing effort through heavy presence and enforcement, to suppress Human Trafficking/Prostitution throughout the valley communities of San Bernardino County, by targeting purchasers "Johns".  During the operation, undercover officers were deployed at a local hotel to pose as prostitutes through on-line advertisements. On-line advertisements are more often used as a means for the commercialized trafficking of underaged victims in the sex trade. During the operation, the officers were contacted and solicited for acts of prostituion by multiple  male suspects. Upon their arrival at the location, the suspects were taken into custody. After being invterviewed and processed, all eleven suspects were transported and booked at West Valley Detention Center, for violation of PC 647(b)(2)- (Sex Buyer) Solicitation for Prostitution. In addition, two of the arrested suspects were charged with additional crimes which occurred during or after their arrest for solicitation. One suspect was additionally charged with PC 148(a)(1)- Resisting Arrest,  while the second suspect was addititionally charged with PC 4573(a)- Knowingly bringing a controlled substance into a jail facility.
 
The San Bernardino County Human Trafficking Task Force is made up of investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office, San Bernardino Police Department, Ontario Police Department, Redlands Police Department, California State Parole, Office of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
