Wilmington Police arrest two after shoplifting incidents at same business
Wilmington Police have arrested and charged two individuals involved in separate shoplifting incidents at the same business in a span of less than 24 hours.
On April 16 at approximately 3:07 p.m., a police officer on patrol in the 1000 block of West Fourth Street observed an employee at the Family Dollar chasing a female subject who had stolen merchandise from the store and threw an object at an employee, causing a minor injury. Police were able to stop the suspect, 51-year-old Ursula Anderson, and she has been charged with robbery (second degree). She was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and held on prior charges out of other jurisdictions.
On April 17 at approximately 2:41 p.m., police were called to the Family Dollar for a robbery investigation. Officers learned that a man had stolen merchandize and pushed two employees before fleeing with the items. Police were able to develop 58-year-old Dudley Nichols as a suspect, and took him into custody in the 500 block of South Van Buren Street. He has been charged with robbery (second degree) and offensive touching. He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and released on $2,600 secured bail.
