On 4/24/19 at approximately 8:25 PM, Officers from the Simi Valley Police Department responded to an address in the 3500 block of Royal Ave. The nature of the call was for a domestic dispute between a husband and wife. The reporting parties, who were the daughters of the husband and wife, ran next door and called SVPD stating that they heard a gunshot during the dispute. Upon arrival, all parties were detained. The investigation revealed that during the dispute, the husband had grabbed a cell phone from his wife, threw it onto a bed and fired one round from a 9mm pistol into it. No one was injured. Steve Flores, 1/13/76 was identified as the suspect and it was learned that he possessed a permit to carry a concealed weapon (CCW). He was subsequently arrested for 246.3(a) PC. ,negligent discharge of a firearm. He was booked at the Ventura County Jail.
