On April 12th, 2019, at a location in Jonesboro, the Clayton County Police Department responded to a person shot call at an apartment building.  Upon arrival, officers observed the victim to be bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds.  The victim was immediately transported to the hospital for medical treatment and miraculously survived his wounds. Officers were able to learn through investigation into the attack that McCannick and the victim had been involved in a verbal altercation.  Suddenly, and without any provocation, McCannick withdrew a firearm and shot multiple times, striking the victim in his lower extremities.  After the investigation, Clayton County Police Detectives took out a warrant for McCannick’s arrest for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.  

Because of the extreme and unnecessary level of violence displayed by McCannick, Sheriff Victor Hill has ordered him placed #1 on his top ten most wanted and has tasked his elite Fugitive Squad with finding him.   McCannick is to be considered armed and dangerous and if spotted, 911 should be dialed immediately.

Travis Deandre McCannick is described as a black male with black hair, brown eyes, 6ft1 in height weighing approximately 201 pounds.  McCannick does not have any known tattoos or distinguishing characteristics.  If anyone has any information as to where McCannick could be hiding please contact the Fugitive Squad at 770-477-4479 so that they can get him to “The Hill-ton” for the special reservations made for him by the Sheriff.
