Advisory

Wood Terrace Closure

Beginning April 29, 2019, a New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision contractor will begin work to connect pipes to a sewer main on Wood Terrace between New Scotland Ave. and Van Allen Pl. that will result in a temporary closure of Wood Terrace. The work is anticipated to take four (4) consecutive business days to complete. The contractor’s work hours will be 7AM to 4PM each day. Wood Terrace will be open to traffic from 4PM until 7AM each day.

The road closure will be restricted between 7AM and 4PM to the work area where the contractor will be connecting to the sewer. Residents of this section of Wood Terrace will be permitted to their homes from either side of the work area & road closure.

A local detour using New Scotland Ave. to Mountain View Ave. to Van Allen Pl. back to Wood Terrace and reverse for the opposite direction of travel will be signed for all others that reside south of Van Allen Place. Wood Terrace between New Scotland Ave. and Van Allen Pl. will have signs stating “Road Closed Ahead,” and residents and visitors will need to use the signed detour to travel beyond the closure. Emergency vehicles will be permitted access up to the work area and will need to follow the signed detour to access addresses on either side of the closure.
