Wilmington Police charge 18-year-old for drug possession, resisting arrest 
Wilmington Police have arrested an 18-year-old who attempted to flee from police and discard drugs.
On April 19 at approximately 2:45 p.m., police responded to the 600 block of North Madison Street in reference to a man suspected to be carrying a firearm. Police attempted to contact a man matching the description provided to officers. As officers approached, 18-year-old Pierre Carter-Bailey attempted to flee on foot but was quickly taken into custody. He also attempted to discard 6.2 grams of crack cocaine.
Carter-Bailey has been charged with possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 1 quantity, as well as resisting arrest. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and given $3,000 unsecured bail. He was also processed on an Department of Corrections warrant and committed to the Sussex Community Correctional Center pending further proceedings.
