UPDATE - Suspect In Custody - APD is investigating a morning robbery in south Amarillo

The suspect has been identified as a juvenile and is now in custody.

***Original Release***

At 8:59 AM, APD officers were dispatched to an armed robbery at a convenience store in the 4200 block of SW 34th Avenue. A black male suspect walked onto the parking lot and put what is believed to be a gun to the head of a customer. The suspect walked the customer into the store at gunpoint and demanded money out of the register. The suspect left south bound out of the parking lot and into the neighborhood. There were no reported injuries from the incident. 

The suspect is described as being about 5’2’’ tall and a slim build. The description does match the same description as the suspect in the robbery on 4-11-19 at the same location. Anyone with information is asked to call the Amarillo Police Department or Amarillo Crime Stoppers at 374-4400.
