Wilmington Police investigation yields guns, drugs, arrests

A Wilmington Police investigation led to a search warrant execution last month that resulted in the arrest of two suspects and the seizure of multiple guns along with a significant quantity of narcotics.
 
Following a lengthy investigation by the Drug, Organized Crime and Vice Division regarding marijuana sales and firearms possession at a location in the 2900 block of Tatnall Street, police secured a search warrant that was executed on March 15 at approximately 6:04 a.m. It was determined during the course of the investigation that two suspects, who were taken into custody without incident, were selling alcohol, tobacco and other products from the residence.
 
Police seized several handguns, including two 12-Gauge shotguns; a .50 caliber rifle; and a .38 caliber revolver, in addition to an extended .45 caliber magazine, .45 caliber ammunition and a .22 caliber large capacity magazine.
 
Police also seized 363 bags of heroin with a collective weight of 2.541 grams, along with 81 containers of crack cocaine (weighing 9.73 grams), 162 containers of marijuana (weighing 103.6 grams), and drug paraphernalia. Numerous containers of alcohol, tobacco products and $242 in currency were also seized.
 
As a result of this investigation, police have charged 26-year-old Lloyd Tomlinson with the following offenses:
 

  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (4 Counts)
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited (4 Counts)
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute (3 Counts)
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 2 Quantity
  • Manufacture and Sale of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Conspiracy (Second Degree)
 
Tomlinson was arraigned in New Castle County Superior Court and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution pending further proceedings.
 
Police have also charged 23-year-old Kelli Brisco with the following offenses:
 
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (4 Counts)
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited (4 Counts)
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute (3 Counts)
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 2 Quantity
  • Manufacture and Sale of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Conspiracy (Second Degree)
 
Brisco was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution pending further proceedings.
 
Captain George Pigford, commander of the Drug, Organized Crime and Vice Division, commended the investigative efforts that resulted in these arrests and seizures.
 
“Our drug investigators continue to be successful in identifying, investigating and arresting those responsible for narcotic sales and weapons offenses,” said Captain Pigford. “In this case, we were able to disrupt a sales operation in addition to taking four deadly weapons off of the streets of Wilmington.”
