Wilmington Police arrest man caught with stolen firearm
Wilmington Police have arrested a 28-year-old man found to be in possession of a firearm reported stolen out of Georgia.
On April 9 at approximately 4:15 p.m., police responded to the 900 block of Vandever Avenue to investigate a person with a gun complaint. As officers spoke with two individuals matching descriptions provided to police, 28-year-old Tykeem Tackett-Fairley admitted to being in possession of a firearm.
Police secured the gun – a revolver found to have been reported stolen in Columbus, Georgia – and took Tackett-Fairley into custody without incident.
Tackett-Fairley has been charged with the following:
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
- Receiving a Stolen Firearm
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution.
