The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect from noon today to 10 PM EDT this evening. * WINDS...West to northwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. * TIMING...This afternoon into this evening. * IMPACTS...Strong winds will blow around unsecured objects and may blow down tree limbs and power lines. Scattered power outages can be expected. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...With the ground saturated from previous rain, trees and power lines will be more susceptible to the adverse effects of strong winds. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Wind Advisory means that very windy conditions are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Light-weight outdoor objects such as patio furniture and garbage cans should be secured.
