Flood Advisory until 11:15PM

The National Weather Service in BLACKSBURG has issued a

* Flood Advisory for Minor Flooding in Poor Drainage Areas for... Greenbrier County in southeastern West Virginia...

* Until 1115 PM EDT

* At 921 PM EDT, Thunderstorms were moving slowly from south to north across the western part of Greenbrier county. This will result in minor flooding in such cities as Rainelle, Rupert, Crawley, and Quinwood. Minor flooding can be expected in low-lying areas, normally flood prone areas, as well as sharp rises on creeks and streams across the western part of the county. Some streams may exceed bankful in a short period of time.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Rainelle... Alderson... Crawley Sam Black Church and Rupert.

* AFFECTED AREAS: GREENBRIER, WV

Instructions:

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. When it is safe to do so, please send your reports of flooding, including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather Service by calling toll free at 1...8 6 6...2 1 5...4 3 2 4.
