At approximately 2:00 a.m., Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a shooting incident that occurred outside of a residence on Laurel Street East in Burton. When they arrived, deputies learned that 36-year-old Clinton Robinson of Lady's Island had been shot and killed by an unknown male subject and that the subject fled the scene after the shooting.The Crime Scene Unit is still on scene processing for forensic evidence and investigators continue to conduct interviews of witnesses.

Beaufort County Coroner Edward Allen advised that a forensic autopsy will be performed on Tuesday at the Medical University of South Carolina to aid in the determination of the cause and manner of Clinton Robinson's death. The investigation is ongoing and additional information will be released when available.
