Selling on "Let Go" doesn't always pay!!

Between the late evening hours of April 11, 2019 and the early morning hours of April 12, 2019, a Simi Valley resident in the area of Yosemite and Los Angeles Ave fell victim to a theft from their vehicle. The suspect in this case entered the victims car and stole the car stereo in doing so, broke the dash board of the victim's vehicle.

Within several hours of the theft, the victim saw what they believed to their stolen radio on a popular on-line second hand sales app known as "Let Go" and reported it to the Simi Valley Police Department.

An investigation was launched during which the seller of the stolen property was contacted. After a brief on-line interaction a sale price, meet location, and time to meet was agreed upon. Upon the arrival of the suspect, he was greeted by the Simi Valley Police Department.

The suspect in this case was identified as Marc Loebel (37 yrs) of Simi Valley. He was found in possession of the stolen radio and arrested for a violation of 496 PC- Possession of stolen property.

The $700 dollar radio was returned to the victim.

This investigation was a collaborative effort between the citizens of Simi Valley, the Simi Valley Police Departments Patrol Division, and the Simi Valley Police Departments Detective Division.
