Wilmington Police arrest 19-year-old who threatened woman with pellet gun

Wilmington Police have arrested a 19-year-old male who threatened a woman with a pellet gun.

On April 11 at approximately 6:30 a.m., police were dispatched to the 1200 block of West Fourth Street. Upon arrival, officers learned from the victim that a 19-year-old male had pointed what she believed to be a black handgun at her earlier in the morning after she asked him to leave her home.

In the course of their investigation, patrol officers were able to develop Alexander Cosme as a suspect, and a search warrant was obtained for his residence. Later that day, patrol officers executed the search warrant and took Cosme into custody without incident. A black pellet gun was located inside of Cosme’s residence, and he later admitted that he pointed the pellet gun at the victim.

Cosme has been charged with aggravated menacing and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $25,000 unsecured bail.
