                Detective Van Williams of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Merle Dwayne Foster, 48, address listed as N.C. 226 South in Nebo, with failure to store a firearm to protect a minor.
                In the early morning hours of Sunday, March 27, 16-year-old Braxton Mosteller, address listed as Nebo, was spending the night with his friend, 17-year-old Jake Foster, address listed as N.C. 226 South in Nebo.
                Jake Foster was cleaning a handgun, when it accidentally fired and hit Mosteller in the lower left leg. Mosteller was taken to Mission Hospital McDowell for treatment of his wound.
