Freeze Warning until 10:00AM Saturday

The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Freeze Warning, which is in effect from 10 PM this evening to 10 AM MDT Saturday. The Freeze Watch is no longer in effect. A Freeze Warning also remains in effect until 10 AM this morning.

* LOCATIONS...Including the cities of Grand Junction, Fruita, Palisade, De Beque, New Castle, Mesa, Parachute, Rifle, Silt, Montrose, Hotchkiss, Delta, Gateway, and Nucla.

* TEMPERATURES...Upper 20s to near 30.

* TIMING...The coldest temperatures are expected early this morning shortly after sunrise and again late tonight into Saturday morning.

* IMPACTS...Sensitive vegetation and swamp coolers will be impacted by sub-freezing temperatures.

* AFFECTED AREAS: GRAND VALLEY ... DEBEQUE TO SILT CORRIDOR ... PARADOX VALLEY/LOWER DOLORES RIVER ... CENTRAL GUNNISON AND UNCOMPAHGRE RIVER BASIN

Instructions:

A Freeze Warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.
