Wilmington Police investigation leads to drug arrest
An investigation by the Drug, Organized Crime and Vice Division has led to the arrest of a 30-year-old man on various drug charges.
On April 4 at approximately 11:18 a.m., police executed a Justice of the Peace search warrant on a location in the 1000 block of West Second Street in relation to an ongoing drug investigation.
The warrant was executed without incident and police seized a bag containing 1.4 grams of crack cocaine; four oxycodone pills; $1,170 in currency and drug paraphernalia. Police took 30-year-old Mitchell Gibbs into custody without incident.
Gibbs has been charged with possession with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and for possession of the prescription pills without a prescription. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $11,000 unsecured bail pending further proceedings.
