INCIDENT: Attempted Murder, Battery with Serious Bodily Injury, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Inflicting Corporal Injury on a Spouse/Cohabitant, Exhibiting a Deadly Weapon

LOCATION: 16900 block of Nisqualli Rd, Victorville

SUSPECT: Christian Ray Sanchez, 28-year old Victorville resident

VICTIM: Confidential, 26-year old female

SUMMARY:
On April 6, 2019, deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to the 16900 block of Nisqualli Road for a reported domestic disturbance. The victim’s boyfriend had assaulted her and taken their 4-month old daughter into another room.

Deputies arrived were able to convince the suspect, Christian Ray Sanchez, to open the door of the residence and let them hold the baby while they spoke to him. The victim was located in a bedroom suffering from injuries she sustained when choked by the suspect. Deputies learned the suspect had also brandished a machete during the attack and threatened to kill the victim. She was transported to a local hospital, where she was treated and later released.

The suspect was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for attempted murder, battery with serious bodily injury, assault with a deadly weapon, inflicting serious injury on a spouse or cohabitant, and exhibiting a deadly weapon. The machete used in the attack was located and placed into evidence, along with a tomahawk and a fixed blade knife.
