Man Arrested Following Search Warrant, Drugs and Weapon Seized

Suffolk County Police today arrested a man and seized drugs and a weapon following the execution of a search warrant at a Farmingville residence early this morning.

Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives responded to a 911 call reporting shots fired in Farmingville. Two men kicked in the front door of 43 Horizon View Drive, displayed a gun, and demanded drugs and money from the homeowner at approximately 2:10 a.m. The homeowner, Sukhman Janjua, fired a shotgun at the robbers, who fired their gun as they fled, striking the houses at 43 and 45 Horizon View Drive with a single bullet each. Detectives recovered drugs at the scene. No one was injured.

After the shooting, police executed a search warrant at the residence and detectives seized cash, and quantities of heroin, marijuana, hallucinogenic mushrooms, Oxycodone pills and crack/cocaine. The shotgun that was used in the incident this morning was also recovered.

Janjua, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree, three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, and Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree.

Janjua, 21, will be held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on April 6.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
