Terry Li arrested for possession of child pornography, seeking the public's help in ID'ing additional victims

DATE/TIME: April 5, 2019

INCIDENT: PC 311.11 – Possession of Child Pornography

LOCATION: 6500 block of Napa Avenue, Rancho Cucamonga

SUSPECT: Terry Li , 25-year-old resident of Rancho Cucamonga

SUMMARY:

On February 27, 2019, Detectives from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department received a Cybertip referral from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The referral reported that an unknown subject downloaded child pornography and provided the Internet Protocol (IP) address used for the download. Detectives initiated an investigation and determined this IP address belonged to a residence in the city of Rancho Cucamonga.

On April 4, 2019, Detectives served a search warrant at a residence in the 6500 block of Napa Avenue and located evidence of child pornography downloaded onto various computers in the home. The investigation revealed Terry Li was responsible for the downloads. Li was not home at the time of the search warrant but later came to the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department. Detectives interviewed Li, and at the end of the interview, he was arrested for possession of child pornography.

Li was booked into the West Valley Detention Center for PC 311.11. On April 5, 2019, Li posted a $25,000 bail bond and was released from custody. Li is scheduled to be arraigned on May 21, 2019, at the San Bernardino County Superior Court in Rancho Cucamonga.

Li is a part-time music coach teaching percussion instruments and is known to teach school-age kids in the Rancho Cucamonga area.

Detectives are releasing Terry Li’s booking photo and asking for the public’s help in identifying anyone who may have been victimized by him.
