INCIDENT: Attempted Murder

LOCATION: 12800 block of Cimarron Way, Victorville

SUSPECT(S): Luis Manuel Bautista, 64-year old Victorville resident

VICTIM(S): Victor Eduardo Bautista, 47-year old Adelanto resident


SUMMARY: On April 3, 2019, deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to the 12800 block of Cimarron Way, for a reported assault with a weapon.

Victor Bautista went to the home of his brother, Luis Bautista, to confront him about a financial matter. The verbal argument escalated to a physical fight. During the fight, Luis went into his home and returned with a handgun. He pointed the gun at Victor and fired one shot, missing Victor. Deputies arrived at the scene and detained Luis. Both men were treated at the scene for minor injuries sustained during the fight.

Luis Bautista was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center for attempted murder. He is scheduled to appear in Victorville Superior Court on April 5, 2019.
