Deputies arrest Roger Gregory for attempted kidnapping

LOCATION: Victor Valley Global Medical Center 15248 11th St, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Roger Gregory, 30-year old transient
VICTIM(S): Confidential, 2-year old female
SUMMARY: On April 3, 2019, deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to Victor Valley Global Medical Center, after a man attempted to kidnap a two-year-old female.
The victim was standing in front of the hospital with her mother when the suspect, identified as Roger Gregory, approached them. He grabbed the victim’s hand and began to walk away. The victim’s mother was able to grab her daughter and enter the hospital, where she reported the incident to security.
As deputies were responding to the hospital, the suspect fled. He broke into a nearby residence, where deputies found him. Gregory was taken into custody after a short struggle. He was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center for kidnapping a child under 14, burglary, and resisting an executive officer. He is scheduled to appear in Victorville Superior Court on April 5, 2019.
