5th Aurora Youth and Family Resource Fair

More than 25 community organizations and service providers will come together for the 5th Aurora Youth and Family Resource Fair TONIGHT - Thursday, April 4 - from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Prisco Community Center, 150. W. Illinois Ave. During the fair, parents and children will be able to visit booths to speak with organizers and obtain information about program participation. The fair will also feature special performances, hands-on activities and raffle prizes. “The fair allows us to present services to our youth and their families at one time,” said youth services manager Simon Rodriguez. “There will be organizations that are actively working to improve the health, academics, recreation, employment and overall empowerment of our youth.” Participating organizations include: AAMOU Rites of Passage, Aunt Martha’s, Aurora Arts Initiative, Aurora Fire Museum, Aurora Public Library, Aurora Township, Boy Scouts, Central Services SER, Communities in Schools, East Aurora district 131, Family Focus, Family Service Association, Fox Valley Park District, Fox Valley Special Recreation Association, Girl Scouts of America, Jesse Torres Boxing Club, Kane County Health Department, Kane County Teacher’s Credit Union, NAACP, SciTech Museum, Simply Destinee, United Way SPARK, Waubonsee Xcelerate, West Aurora School District 129, Youth Service Bureau of Illinois Valley, and many more! Sponsored by Aldermen Scheketa Hart-Burns, Rick Mervine, Juany Garza and the City of Aurora, the 5th Aurora Youth and Family Resource Fair is free and open to the public.
