Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash

On April 1, 2019 at approximately 9:43 pm, officers from the Township of Hamilton Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash on the Black Horse Pike (westbound) in the area of the Route 50 on-ramp.  Investigation revealed a black Toyota Scion, being operated by Jaime Hannah (18/M) of Newfield left the roadway and struck a utility pole, causing the vehicle to catch fire and become fully engulfed in flames. The rear seat passenger, a 16/M from Newtonville, was killed as a result of injuries sustained from the crash. The driver was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.  There were no other occupants in the vehicle.
Assisting with the scene was the Township of Hamilton Rescue, Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, Mays Landing, Laureldale and Cologne Fire Departments,  and the Southern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
