03/02/2019 *Vehicle Impound – Unregistered Vehicle on the Road
Jennings Rd. and Barker Rd. – Traffic Stop for speed revealed the driver was driving a vehicle without insurance – the vehicle was impounded and the case was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for review.

03/03/2019 *Driving with an invalid License Plate -Confiscated Plate
Pine St. and Main St.-Traffic Stop for equipment violation revealed license plate was not valid and was to be confiscated per Secretary of State. The officer recovered the plate and escorted the driver to his residence.

03/06/2019 *Arrest –Fleeing & Eluding / Operating While Intoxicated
7 mile & Donna Lane - An Officer responded to a vehicle in the ditch – when the officer arrived the vehicle was pulling out of the ditch and attempted to flee the scene. After another officer assisted, the vehicle was stopped and officers observed the driver displayed signs of intoxication. Further investigation revealed the driver’s vehicle had struck property, and was heavily damaged, the driver was transported to the hospital for medical evaluation, where he also submitted to a blood test. Upon return of the lab results, the case will be forwarded to the prosecutor for charges.

03/05/2019 *Larceny (theft) from Auto
6500 Block of Earhart – Victim(homeowner) reported that sometime during the night of 03/04/2019, someone had removed a toolbox containing tools from the back of his work truck. Footwear impressions were left at the scene and the investigation remains open.

03/06/2019 * Arrest – Violation of Tether
8700 Block of Main St –Assist Wayne County Sheriff with a tether violator – after making contact with the subject, the subject was detained until Wayne County arrived and took him into custody.

03/07/2019 *Arrest – Defrauding an Innkeeper
9800 Block of Main St- Officers responded to a patron refusing to pay his bill. After offering several options and determining the patron could not pay his meal bill, the subject was arrested. Later, after being released the subject made restitution with the business and the case was closed with no criminal charges.

03/09/2019 *Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card
300 Block of Beachway – A report was filed when someone used the victims work credit card to make two on line purchases from Walmart and an attempted transaction from an eatery. The case remains under investigation.

03/10/2019 *Arrest- Driving On Suspended License / Fugitive Warrants
Main St & 7 Mile Rd – An Officer observed a traffic violation (crossing over the center line). Upon making a traffic stop, the driver advised the officer he did not have a driver’s license and the officer determined the subject was driving on a suspended license and had several prior license convictions along with outstanding warrants. The driver was arrested, his license plate removed (with a paper replacement plate) and his vehicle was impounded. The prosecutor authorized misdemeanor charges for Operating while license Suspended 2nd Offense.

03/12/2019 *Hit & Run
200 Block of Emerald Circle – Officers responded to a hit and run which had just occurred (12:55am) – the suspect vehicle had struck a parked vehicle and drove off. Evidence was recovered at the scene and officers attempted to locate the suspect vehicle, but were unsuccessful. Later an officer observed the suspect’s vehicle had returned to the area, it was impounded and a suspect identified. The case was forwarded to the Prosecutor for review.

03/16/2019 *Arrest – Driving on Suspended License
Main St & East Shore – An officer observed a Defective Equipment -Traffic violation. Upon the traffic stop, the driver stated his driver’s license was suspended. After confirming the suspension, the driver was arrested and his vehicle was impounded. The case was forwarded to the prosecutor requesting charges for Driving on Suspended License 2nd Offense.

03/18/2019 *Retail Fraud
9500 Block of Main St – Officers responded to the market where several packs of cigarettes were pointed out and employees reported that a known subject had tried to steal them. Officers could not locate the subject, but the case has been forwarded to the prosecutor for review.

03/19/2019 *Arrest - Larceny from Auto Suspect
8 Mile & Lemen – Officers assisted a neighboring police agency attempting to stop a larceny suspect. After driving off the roadway, the suspect fled on foot. Northfield Twp and Green Oak Police discovered the suspect hiding in a local neighborhood. Evidence was also recovered at the scene and the suspect was arrested.

03/19/2019 *Assault & Battery
400 Block of Diamond Circle- Officers responded to known parties involved in a dispute when one became physical and struck another. A report was forwarded to the prosecutor for review.

03/20/2019 *Defrauding the Innkeeper
9400 Block of Main St – Officers responded to a report of a female who had run out without paying her food bill. Witnesses stated that the female had placed an order, had eaten and had requested a carry out container. Witnesses then observed her leave the restaurant without paying. After receiving a description, the officers located the suspect and an acquaintance who promised to make restitution. The owner of the eatery accepted the offer, restitution was made and no prosecution was desired.

03/20/2019 *Arrest – Fugitive Warrants – Trespass Notice Served
9400 Block of Main St – An evicted, intoxicated previous tenant was located by the manager in the property. Officers arrived, determined that subject was wanted on warrants, and arrested the subject. The subject was released, per warrant holding agencies, was served a trespass notice and was provided a ride to a friend’s residence.

03/20/2019 *Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card
200 Block of Barker Rd- Merchant received a late telephone credit card purchase, with a subject arriving to pick up the merchandise just before closing. It was later learned that the purchaser had no authority to use the credit card and the transaction was cancelled. The case remains under investigation.

03/23/2019 *Landlord Tenant Dispute
1600 Block E. North Territorial – Monetary dispute between Landlord/Tenant – An officer mediated the situation, that involved both possible criminal fraud and civil standings. Both parties involved are considering their options, the case remains open.

03/27/2019 *Fraudulent Purchase
8600 Block of Main St – A report was made claiming that an unauthorized Life Insurance Policy had been opened up in an elderly victim’s name. The case remains under investigation.

03/27/2019 *Arrest -Driving on A Suspended License
Main St & 6 Mile Rd – An officer observed an expired plate and upon traffic stop discovered that the driver had a suspended driver’s license. The driver was arrested and the vehicle impounded.

03/28/2019 *Fraudulent use of a Credit Card
5200 Block of Nolar – After retaining a representative for legal matters, victim discovered that the retained company continued to charge her credit card for unauthorized legal documents. After several excuses regarding the failure to reimburse, a police report was filed. The case remains under investigation.

In addition, two separate reports were taken where internet chats turned into sexual pictures being sent, followed by extortion requests …..demanding money or the receiver would publish the photos.

Remember, the internet world does not always present itself truthfully. Use caution before sharing anything!
