MARIETTA – The City of Marietta has been notified by the contractor for the new Kennestone Emergency Department that they will begin to place the pedestrian bridge that will cross over Church Street on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 8pm resulting in a closure and detour.

Beginning Friday, March 29 at 8pm Church Street will be closed from Tower Road to Cherry Street.  Traffic on Church Street will be routed down Cherokee Street to Cherry, where they will turn and be routed back to Church Street.  A lane on Cherokee street will be reversed from Cherry Street to Tower Road to allow for two-way traffic in this section. The requested weekend for the closure and detour will be March 29-31, 2019. The closure will begin at 8pm on Friday, March 29, and the road will be reopened at 5am on Monday, March 31, 2019.
