Scammers spoofing Sheriff's Office phone number asking for money 
Be aware that scammers are spoofing our Sheriff's Office phone number and asking for money.
We do not call people and ask for money.
If you do get a call like that, your best option is to simply hang up.
If there's any question as to a call being legitimate, please call us anytime at (812) 385-3496. That's the number that is coming up on caller ID, but the call is not actually coming from us.
It's likely from somewhere overseas and hard to track down.
There's very little that can be done against number spoofing at this time.
