The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a
* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for... Franklin County in south central Illinois... Southern Hamilton County in south central Illinois...
* Until 1130 PM CDT.
* At 929 PM CDT, thunderstorms with heavy rain continued to train eastward across central portions of Franklin County, including the Benton area. Radar indicated one to two inches of rain fell in the past hour. Some street flooding was reported with these storms earlier this evening in Du Quoin in Perry County. Additional rainfall up to one half inch will cause urban and small stream flooding.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Benton, Christopher, Hanaford, North City, and areas of Hamilton County south of Mcleansboro.
* AFFECTED AREAS: FRANKLIN, IL ... HAMILTON, IL
Instructions:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
