Synopsis: A 30 year old black female was at the Martin Luther King Park and Recreation Center. She became involved in a verbal argument with a black male. During the argument the male produced a handgun and began hitting the female with it. During the ensuing fight the male shot the female once, hitting her in the thigh. The suspect then fled the scene N/B on foot. Paramedics transported the female to an area hospital for treatment of her non-life threatening injuries. The suspect is described as a mid 20's black male, 5' 5" tall and thin build. He was described as wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and baggy blue jeans. Southeastern Division detectives responded to the scene and will be handling the investigation.
