A traffic stop leads to a pursuit and arrest for felony evading in a stolen vehicle & an active unrelated warrant

INCIDENT: Felony Evading / Possession of a Stolen Vehicle
LOCATION: N. State Street and State Highway 210, San Bernardino
SUSPECT: Elvis Hernandez, 31 year-old resident of Los Angeles
SUMMARY: On March 22, 2019, at approximately 9:20 P.M., Central Station Deputy W. Ziemer observed Elvis Hernandez driving a red Toyota Corolla in the area of N. State Street and State Highway 210, in the city of San Bernardino. Ziemer attempted a traffic stop on the Toyota and Hernandez failed to stop. A vehicle pursuit ensued through residential communities of San Bernardino and Muscoy. During the pursuit, Hernandez drove with complete disregard for the safety of the public. The pursuit ended on the 1000 block of 23rd Street, in San Bernardino. Hernandez was apprehended without further incident. The investigation revealed the Toyota was stolen weeks prior from San Bernardino.
Elvis Hernandez was arrest for felony evading, possession of a stolen vehicle and an active unrelated warrant for his arrest. Hernandez was booked at Central Detention Center where he is being held without bail.
