Attempted armed robbery in the Turtle Creek Neighborhood
On the above date and time, Petaluma Police Department officers were dispatched to an assault that had just occurred in the 1800 block of Linnet Lane. Officers contacted a male and female victim, who had just pulled up to their home in their vehicle. The male victim was seated in the passenger seat and heard a knock on his door. The suspect then walked around and knocked on the driver’s side door where the female was sitting. The female opened the door and the suspect immediately grabbed the female by the hair and began to pull her out of the vehicle. The female grabbed her purse and once outside the suspect attempted to pull the purse away from the female victim.
The male victim exited the vehicle and confronted the suspect. The male victim pushed the suspect away. The suspect regained his balance and punched the male victim. The male victim may have also been struck with a thin ornamental iron bar. The victim temporarily lost consciousness and the suspect then fled on foot in an unknown direction.
The suspect was described as male, 6’, medium build, wearing a black mask, with unknown clothing. The iron bar was found at the scene and it is unknown where it came from. The suspect appeared to have approached the victim’s vehicle walking westbound. The male victim was transported to Petaluma Valley Hospital for contusions and laceration to his head. The female victim was uninjured.
