On March 22,2 2019 at approximately 8:11 pm, Palm Springs Police Department Dispatch received a 911 call of a traffic collision in the area of South Palm Canyon Drive and Camino Parocela.  Officers arrived on scene and learned that a passenger car sideswiped a motorcycle in a nearby parking lot.  The driver of the car left the scene and collided with a fire hydrant a short distance away.  The motorcyclist and the driver of the passenger car were not injured.  However, a passenger inside the car suffered major injuries and was transported to a local hospital by paramedics.  Officers are conducting an investigation to determine if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision.  PSPD traffic investigators were called to the scene to conduct their investigation.

**Correction to the previous press release**  South Palm Canyon Drive between Camino Parocela and Sunny Dunes Road is closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic due to the collision investigation.
