Thursday's Point Comfort Club, Hilton Head, shooting victim, 44-year-old Karma Young, died at Savannah Memorial.
Case Details
Karma Young was shot just after 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, while outside of a Point Comfort Club, Hilton Head Island residence. According to witnesses at the scene, a male subject fled from the area in a silver Mercedes Benz, immediately after the shooting. The subject believed responsible for the shooting was later identified as 41-year-old Jose Guzman-Rosario, an acquaintance of Karma Young.
Approximately one hour after Karma Young was shot, Jose Guzman-Rosario was found dead inside of his Brook Mill apartment in Jasper County. It appears Guzman-Rosario died as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Found in proximity to Guzman-Rosario's body was a handgun of the same caliber believed use to shoot Karma Young. In addition, a cartridge casing found near his body was the same caliber and manufacturer as the casing found by investigators at the Point Comfort Club shooting scene.
The Beaufort County Coroner's Office will schedule a forensic autopsy to be performed at the Medical University of South Carolina to establish the cause and manner of Karma Young's death. The investigation is ongoing.

According to Beaufort County Coroner Edward Allen, Thursday morning's Hilton Head Island shooting victim, 44-year-old Karma Young, died today at Savannah Memorial.
