Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports the arrest of Muhsin McBride, 31, of Woodbridge, for an aggravated assault shooting that occurred on Friday, March 15th, 2019.

At approximately 8:10 p.m. police responded to the 100-block of Hedden Terrace on a call of shots fired. Responding officers located a man who had been shot and fled to Tillinghast Street following the incident. The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment and was released.

Investigating detectives identified Muhsin McBride as a suspect in this incident and secured a warrant for his arrest on charges of Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.

McBride was arrested by 2nd Precinct officers last night in the 100-block of 7th Avenue East.

These charges are merely accusations. Each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
