Deputy stops SUV and finds stolen property and drugs

Deputy Jordon Frisbee of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Jerome Michael Buchanan, 26, address listed as Jacktown Road in Marion, with possession of methamphetamine, possession of stolen goods, driving while license revoked, resisting a public officer and giving false information to an officer.
Buchanan was also served with eight outstanding warrants.
Around 2 a.m. on Thursday, March 21, Frisbee was patrolling Jacktown Road, when he saw a Chevrolet SUV with a fictitious plate.
He stopped the vehicle and noticed several new chainsaws and tools, still in their boxes, in the back of the Trailblazer. At that same time, Marion police officers were at Rhinehart’s Saw & Lawn for an alarm call. Marion officers relayed that they had chainsaws missing from Rhinehart’s.
Buchanan gave Frisbee three false names before other authorities arrived on the scene, were familiar with him and identified him as Jerome Buchanan.
