                Deputy Steven McPeters of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Tomoka Shenee Young, 40, address listed as Vein Mountain Road in Nebo, with assault on a law enforcement officer inflicting serious injury, resisting a public officer and driving while license revoked.
                At approximately 12:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, McPeters assisted Deputy Jesse Hicks with a traffic stop on U.S. 221 South. Deputies knew the driver, identified as Young, did not have a valid license.
                During the stop, Young exited the vehicle at McPeters’ request, became irate and punched him in the face. A pit bull jumped from Young’s car and caused both the suspect and McPeters to fall, which left the deputy with a hand injury.
