ATTENTION: This is a TEST of the City of Rolling Hills Estates Nixle alert system. In an emergency, the City will use Nixle to communicate

Today, Tuesday, March 19, the City of Rolling Hills Estates will issue a test of the city’s Nixle emergency notification system, which includes landline calls. Testing will occur on Tuesday, March 19 at 6:00 p.m.
To ensure receipt of these important messages, the community is encouraged to sign up for Nixle notifications by texting RHECITY to 888-777 from their mobile device or visiting, or the City's contact page, to ensure you receive the test alert. Please encourage your friends, family, and neighbors within the city to sign up as well. If you're already signed up, please check your account to ensure your contact information is up to date.
The Nixle system is capable of sending text and/or email alerts to residents using our city’s unique code or their zip code. The system is used to deliver alerts regarding police activity, road closures, natural disasters, and other emergency situations to residents.
In addition, the reverse 911 system has the capability of sending voice messages to residents during emergencies using a combination of telephone database and Geographic Information System (GIS) technology. This system is used to deliver emergency alerts only to residents when there is a threat to the health and safety of residents, and provides critical information such as evacuation orders and shelter locations. No opt-in is required.
For more information on the Nixle system or other public safety measures within the city, please contact Jessica Slawson at  or visit the city’s website at
