Wilmington Police announce traffic advisories for Sunday, March 24

The Wilmington Police Department is announcing traffic restrictions on Sunday, March 24, during the 2019 Caesar Rodney Half Marathon and 5K races.
 
Motorists may experience traffic detours, road closures, and runners on the roadway throughout the City.
 
The races will begin and end at Rodney Square, and impacted roadways include those in and around the Riverfront, Compton Village, Midtown Brandywine, Brandywine Park, the Highlands and the Delaware Art Museum.
 
Please take note of the following closures and restrictions:
 

  • No southbound traffic will be allowed on North Market Street at 18th Street; southbound traffic will be detoured onto West 18th Street
  • No traffic will be allowed on South Market Street at Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.; traffic will be detoured eastbound on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
  • North Spruce Street will be closed at East 5th Street; traffic will be detoured onto East 5th Street
 
All other impacted roadways will be open to vehicular traffic, but motorists should use caution due to the presence of race participants.
