Wilmington Police arrest wanted New Castle County man

Wilmington Police have arrested a wanted New Castle County man who was observed looking into a vehicle in downtown Wilmington.

On March 7, a police officer in plain clothes and in an unmarked vehicle was on proactive patrol in downtown Wilmington when he located 30-year-old Urian Fisher looking into a vehicle at the intersection of King Street and West 10th Street. The officer learned that Fisher was wanted by the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas.

When the officer exited his vehicle, identified himself as a police officer and attempted to place Fisher under arrest, Fisher struggled and attempted to discard apparent drug paraphernalia into a trash can. He was taken into custody without further incident, and has been charged with Resisting Arrest.

Fisher was arraigned by the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and released pending further proceedings.

Fisher was previously arrested and charged by Wilmington Police on January 22 when he was observed in the 300 block of North Shipley Street ransacking the interior of a Jeep Wrangler.

The Wilmington Police Department reminds residents and visitors to secure their vehicles and remove valuables from plain sight, and encourages the public to report any suspicious activity to police.
