On March 15 at 2:05 PM, APD officers were called to a parking lot in the 7700 block of IH-40 West. The caller had located a grey Nissan Sentra that was reported as being driven by a missing person, Tara Higgs Spears. Officers found a female deceased inside of the parked car. The Amarillo Police Department Special Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Investigation Unit were called to investigate. Officers identified the deceased female as Tara Higgs Spears. Spears was last seen on Thursday March 7th and reported missing on Monday March 12. There is no evidence supporting foul play in this case.

The Amarillo PD needs your help in locating a missing Amarillo woman. Her name is Tara Higgs Spears and she is 49 years old. She has blond hair and keeps it shoulder length or shorter. She was last seen and talked to on Thursday, March 7th, 2019. Her vehicle is a 2015 Nissan Sentra 4door, grey in color, with Texas license plate, KGB5846.
