The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a
* Flood Advisory for... Southeastern Walker County in central Alabama... Blount County in central Alabama... Northwestern Etowah County in northeastern Alabama... Northern Jefferson County in central Alabama...
* Until 800 PM CDT.
* At 558 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated clusters of showers and thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall. These storms extendended from Walker County eastward to Etowah County. Heavy rainfall has already occurred in many of these same areas with one to locally 3 inches of rain already fallen in the advisory area. Additional rainfall will cause flooding of low lying and normal flood prone locations.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Jasper, Boaz, Oneonta, Attalla, Sumiton, Cordova, Dora, Blountsville, Cleveland, Dallas, Warrior, Kimberly, Morris, Sardis City, Locust Fork, Parrish, Altoona, Snead, Susan Moore and Walnut Grove.
* AFFECTED AREAS: ETOWAH, AL ... BLOUNT, AL ... JEFFERSON, AL ... WALKER, AL
